June 26th - Talk on Yellowstone National Park, its environment and animals. In aid of Friends of Widecombe School. Venue Green Cafe, Widecombe in the Moor. Start time 7.30pm. Children over 8 years welcome. Cost is £5 to include first drink and nibbles. Call 01364 621202 for more information.
July 8th - Puppy Socialising Classes at Bovey Tracey Town Hall We are running two classes in the afternoon. First one is for puppies not yet fully vaccinated and the second one for puppies fully vaccinated up to 20 weeks. Call 01364 621287 for more information.
July 25th - Should You Have a Wolf in Your Living Room - a seminar to explore wolves, wolf hybrids and wolf look a like dogs. Venue: Kingston Marward College, Dorchester. The day starts with registration at 9.30. Session runs from 10am to 4pm. Ticket price is £30 and Students £15. Includes lunch. Contact 01305 215215 quoting AC132 to book a place.
August 11th - Workshop in the Park - At 7pm to 8pm. Subjects to be covered for you and your dog - Socialising, Really Reliable Recall, Leave It/Chase. Please contact us for more information and to book a place. Cost is £5 per handler/dog. Venue is Mill Marsh Park, Bovey Tracey near to the Scout Hut.
October 4th - The Wolves of Yellowstone National Park. To be held at the UK Wolf Conservation Trust (UKWCT) for World Animal Day. All funds raised at this event will go to support projects working to keep wolves in the wild. Please contact www.ukwolf.org or 0118 971 3330 for more information. Advance tickets are available.
October 24th/25th - Living in a World of Wolves, Wolf Hybrids and Wolf Look a Like Dogs 24th is Seminar open to all and 25th is for CAPBT members. Both days will count towards CPD for all professionals in the world of animals.
All year:
Adult Socialising Group - regular weekly meetings to work aggressive dogs within a control group of non - reactive dogs. Using the clicker, we show the dog how not to be aggressive and how to meet other dogs politely. Only one problem dog at a time can be accepted and only after an initial behaviour consultation on veterinary referral with Kirsty, Chrissy or Rachael.
On going, six weekly, dog-training terms in Bovey Tracey Town Hall, these follow the Kennel Club Good Dog Citizen Awards, from Puppy Foundation Level to Gold. These take place on a Tuesday or Thursday evening from 6.30pm or a Wednesday afternoon.
