Silver Peakes, Montana USA
For a memorable holiday this is the place you have to travel to if you
love the outdoors or just sitting quietly on a deck admiring a view.
And what a view!
The house is on two levels and sleeps up to 7 people. There are four bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms (one with a jacussi bath) and two half baths. On the ground floor it is open plan with a master suite off the Great Room and downstairs there are 3 further bedrooms and a family room with TV/DVD/CD player. It has a deck which is glass panelled around the front from where it is possible to sit and enjoy the ever changing scenery of Emigrant Peak (approx. 11,000ft). The house is positioned to view Emigrant and the Absaroka Mountains. Picture windows make full use of the views. In front of the house is the Gallatin range of mountains.
Silver Peaks is just 30 miles north of the main entrance of Yellowstone
National Park. Local store is 5 miles away and Livingstone is 26 miles
away for shopping. Chico Hot Springs is five miles away and boasts the
finest restaurant in the region as well as its famous hot pool and
health spa. It is known as the Hollywood of Montana as several film
stars have ranches in the area.
Day trips from Silver Peaks can include a visit to Little Bighorn Battlefield (Custer's last stand) and a visit to Virginia City a town which is now a museum. Other activities include Yellowstone National Park, fly fishing on the best water ever, mountain biking, hiking, horse riding in summer, dog sledding in the winter, white water rafting... the list is endless.
Travelling from the UK or Europe to Silver Peaks involves a minimum of
two flights. It is necessary to fly to a main USA airport such as
Denver, Salt Lake City, Chicago, Minneapolis and then take an internal
flight to either Bozeman or Billings. Bozeman is the nearest airport to
the property being 50 miles away. Billings is about 85 miles away. Car
hire facilities are available at the airport and can be booked in
advance. The best value is Dollar which is off site but there is a
shuttle bus and it is only 10 minutes away.
